Audio Engineer
Theatrical Experience

Employment History
Ohio Northern University
During my time as a student at ONU I was given the opportunity to work in the Performing Arts Center as technical staff. Part of this experience included working in the center's electrics shop, loading in and out guest performers' equipment, and operating audio and video equipment during guest performances and produced events.
Additionally, for the 2023 Spring Semester I held the position of Audio head in the University's Performing Arts Center. This role included the responsibility to inventory and prepare equipment for all events taking place within the center as well as maintaining this equipment by conducting or coordinating repairs as needed. I also then became the primary contact for troubleshooting issues arising with equipment after regular shop hours where this equipment was being utilized for events or rehearsals.
Weathervane Playhouse
For the 2022 Summer season I was employed as the audio engineer for Weathervane Playhouse in Newark Ohio for all five shows produced that season. With the only other member of the Audio Team being remote I was responsible for preparing all Audio and Video equipment, meeting with the creative team for structuring and implementing cue lists for A/V events, and running this equipment during show runs.
Educational Experiences
While studying as a Theatre Technology and Design Minor at Ohio Northern University I was granted the opportunity to undertake many different roles in the University's Produced Shows as Educational Practicums.
These experiences granted me the ability to work in a semi-professional environment, alongside a great deal of guest artists and designers to the University.
Below are the defining characteristics of each of these productions and the experiences they provided me with.
The Addams Family
Role: Audio Engineer
April 2023
As our large-scale spring musical this production had a total of 23 actors with wireless microphones as well as a 13 member pit orchestra which was moderately amplified through the house.
With delays in the technical rehearsals we only had the chance to rehearse the show once at speed with transitions and microphones before opening night. This provided me with the opportunity to exhibit and build upon my live mixing skills as well as reinforce the importance of preparation so as to be able to anticipate audio behavior prior to it happening on stage.
ONU's Holiday Spectacular
Role: A2
November/December 2022
For this annual show, not only is it put up and performed in the ONU's Freed Center for the Performing Arts, but it is also then struck and loaded into the Veteran's Memorial Civic Center in Lima, Ohio.
As A2 I assisted the Audio Engineer in Loading and Striking the entire audio system used in the Freed Center's Main Stage for use in the Civic Center, in addition to other typical A2 duties.
Swing!
Role: Audio Engineer
October 2022
Produced as ONU's semesterly dance show, it was necessary to coordinate multiple wireless mic changeovers so that actors were not incumbered by a transmitter during their routines.
Additionally, there was a complete 8 member pit orchestra placed on stage which required complete amplification throughout the house.
42nd Street
Role: A2
April 2022
This show was my introduction to audio over network protocols and the dependance on Dante protocols and hardware for this production inspired me to get level 2 certification with Dante.
Beauty and the Beast
Role: Projections Operator
Projections Designer: Kristin Ellert
October 2021
For this show the department was granted the funds to to rent 5 Mackie projectors and purchase a video server.
The Scenic designer for the show was a guest artist who also worked on the projections designs, and who I had the opportunity to work with over the preceding 3 months during the University's Summer break.
As such I was granted the opportunity to help in the installation, troubleshooting, and operation of the projection equipment.
